WORKPLACE CULTURE EVALUATION & TRANSFORMATION TRAINING

This bespoke programme examines and evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of your workplace culture in relation to disability. This includes an interview process with managers and staff followed by review, updating (where necessary), or implementation of new Equality and Diversity, Reasonable Adjustments, Sickness/Absence and Grievance/Disciplinary policies. A written disability work plan will be provided on completion to support employers moving forward.

NEURODIVERSITY AWARENESS TRAINING & AUTISM DIAGNOSIS

Over 10 million individuals in the UK have a disability, and 4.4 million of them are employed. Of the 22% autistic individuals in employment, many face misunderstanding and discrimination, along with other neurodiverse employees. Many other workers experience difficulties due to be autistic but undiagnosed.

Employers have a legal duty to ensure that disabled workers are protected from substantial disadvantage in the workplace. This service helps employers fulfil their duty to respond appropriately to constructive or actual knowledge of neurodiversity and to make appropriate reasonable adjustments where necessary. The service also includes autism diagnosis for staff where requested.

Appraisals

APPRAISAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

Although there is no legal requirement in the UK to carry out appraisals, they are standard and useful practice. They provide a clear record of your workers' performance and professional progress. If a worker experiences a detrimental change to role or termination on the basis of poor performance in relation to their disability, the absence of regular appraisals and/or a professional development process could leave you open to a claim of disability discrimination. This service includes training to help you implement appraisals and professional development process fairly for disabled workers.

TAKE ACTION BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) published a report titled 'Estimating the Cost of Workplace Conflict' on 11 May 2021.  Two key findings

are outlined as follows:

'Investment in effective and early resolution designed to build positive employment relationships may have a very significant return. The average costs of conflict where employees did not engage with their managers, HR or union representatives were higher than where such discussions took place. Furthermore, where conflict spiralled into formal procedures, costs were more than 3 times the costs associated with informal resolution.
